We are having our annual Earth Day and Heritage Nursery plant sale at Dudley Farm Historic State Park. We will be having tables on various topics such as: Pollinators, why we need them, Invasive Exotic Plants, Building a Bee House, Zero Waste Gainesville, Love Our Springs, Growing a longleaf pine. Also GRU will have information on electric cars and Sweetwater Wetlands Park and more.
Our annual Heritage Nursery plans sale features heritage plants which have been grown for decades in the Dudley flower gardens, and many species of native plants.
We have 250 longleaf pine seedlings to give away (one per family) til they are gone. Please be ready to plant your seedling..

Dudley Farm Historic State Park will host a volunteer day on September 28, 2019. National Public Lands Day is the nations largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve America’s public lands. Join us as we pull invasive plants and work in our historic gardens area. Groups, families and individuals are welcome. Please meet at the Visitors Center; bring clippers, bug spray, work gloves and water. Dress appropriately and wear closed toe shoes.

Quilt Day. Quilt Day - Scrappy Quilts. 10 - 10:30 a speaker will talk about "Scraps - Love 'em & USE 'em. At 11 - 11:30 a speaker will talk about "Frugal Quilting, Use Every Scrap". By Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild. Many varieties of quilts will be exhibited. Also there will be various demonstrators and vendors including the Levy Co Quilt Museum.
Heritage Nursery Plant Sale - We will have heritage plants from the original Dudley gardens including varieties of gingers, and also many species of Florida native plants.

Enjoy watching the traditional method of making cane syrup, including our cane mill and syrup complex. Other acitivities include traditional craft demonstrations, blacksmithing, wood working, cross cut saw demonstrations, children's games, a quilt drawing, old-time music and much more!
