Second Saturday of the month 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Depending on weather, it will be either in the Visitor Center or on the back porch of the farmhouse. 
Join us on the farm. Children and adults alike, ages 5 and up, can join in the fun!  There are hands-on demonstrations, crafts, old-fashioned games and even some education.  Learn about history and a farming way of life.

Summer break in June, July, August and September.

Domestic Skills Group

Workshops meet at the Visitor Center, Wednesdays except the 3rd Wed of the month.  9 a.m. to 11 a.m

A resource person  will teach a variety of domestic skills.

Educational Programs
Diverse topics such as cracker Florida, genealogy, Florida native plants, archeology, Florida Pioneer Days, local cemeteries, and growing vegetables. Programs are open to the public.

  • Antique Tractor and Car Day - The Antique Tractors Club will plow a field using antique tractors and plows. Many antique tractors and some antique cars will be on display.
  • Front yard in bloom: Roses, Amaryllis, Coreopsis, Crinums
  • Planting field crops and garden planting days
  • Cracker cows calving in March

April - May

  • Dudley Farm: A Show Place - Front yard in bloom: heirloom roses, lilies, and flowers

  • Corn harvest, sweet potato harvest
  • Reconstruction Era event showcasing the period of history after the Civil War.

November - December

  • Cane Day Festival - making syrup from sugar cane, 1st Saturday of December, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Self-guided tour: Pick up a brochure and enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the authentic working farm. The homestead consists of 18 buildings, including the family farmhouse with original furnishings, a 1880's kitchen outbuilding, a general store, post office, and a functional cane syrup complex. See costumed interpreters working the farm in the lifestyle of the 1880's to 1940's as they perform daily chores, work the crops, and tend to livestock.

Historic tours: Join us on a tour that will teach you about a way of life post Civil War to mid-1940’s. Discover an authentic working farm and learn about how this farm was operated by a Floridian family, the Dudleys. Follow a park staff or docent in period clothing as they talk about the homestead consisting of eighteen restored buildings, the farm animals, the gardens and the local history. 10:00 am., every 4th Sat, Oct - May

Guided-tours: School groups and organizations must make reservations for tours one month in advance. Groups are limited to 40 people. Please call the park office at 352-472-1142 for group tour guidelines and information.
