Plowing Up the PastFriday, March 01, 2019 - Saturday, March 02, 2019 10:00am - 03:00pm

See how fields were plowed for the spring plantings. See different types of field plows and antique tractors. These antique tractors are a display of farming equipment and a way of life circa 1930’s and 1940’s, a reflection of rural American history. Observe, as the participants work the land plowing and disking. Volunteers in period clothing will be at the farmstead demonstrating period crafts and interpreting the farms history.

Also the Southern Syrupmakers Assoc will be joining us for a Tasting Contest that anyone can join. Let's see who has the best syrup. Sat Mar 2 only.

Our food vendor is Eddie Q - Classic Southern Barbeque.

Kids Day - Stay Cool.  Make an old-fashioned paper fan. Join us at the farm on the second Saturday of the month for our Dudley Kids Day. Children and adults alike, ages 5 to 65, can join in on the fun! There are hands on demonstrations, crafts, old fashioned games and even some education. Learn about history and the farming way of life.

Travel back in time and discover an 1885 working farm. Girl Scouts and docents demonstrate various tasks, skills, and games of the era. This is what might have happened in an1880’s farm during the day. Chores, and games; a part of life. Then enjoy the day with an old fashioned picnic in the farm.

Earth Day & Heritage Plant SaleSaturday, April 20, 2019 09:30am - 02:00pm

We are having our annual Earth Day and Heritage Nursery plant sale at Dudley Farm Historic State Park.  We will be having tables on various topics such as:  Pollinators, why we need them, Invasive Exotic Plants, Building a Bee House, Zero Waste Gainesville, Love Our Springs, Growing a longleaf pine. Also GRU will have information on electric cars and Sweetwater Wetlands Park and more.

Our annual Heritage Nursery plans sale features heritage plants which have been grown for decades in the Dudley flower gardens, and many species of native plants.

We have 250 longleaf pine seedlings to give away (one per family) til they are gone. Please be ready to plant your seedling..

Come for a morning of Junior Ranger activities and fun! Participants will have the opportunity to:

- Complete 3 different "passport" activities
- Get sworn in as a Florida State Parks Junior Ranger
- Talk with staff, volunteers and rangers from several Florida State Parks
- Face painting available

Don't forget water and sunscreen. Please arrive in time to register between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Afterwards, bring a picnic lunch or buy a hot dog and lemonade lunch. Enjoy the farm in the company of your new Junior Ranger friends!

National Public Lands DaySaturday, September 28, 2019 09:00am - 12:00pm

Dudley Farm Historic State Park will host a volunteer day on September 28, 2019. National Public Lands Day is the nations largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve America’s public lands.  Join us as we pull invasive plants and work in our historic gardens area.  Groups, families and individuals are welcome.  Please meet at the Visitors Center; bring clippers, bug spray, work gloves and water.  Dress appropriately and wear closed toe shoes.

Quilt Day & Heritage Nursery Plant SaleSaturday, October 05, 2019 09:30am - 02:30pm

Quilt Day. Quilt Day - Scrappy Quilts. 10 - 10:30 a speaker will talk about "Scraps - Love 'em & USE 'em. At 11 - 11:30 a speaker will talk about "Frugal Quilting, Use Every Scrap". By Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild. Many varieties of quilts will be exhibited. Also there will be various demonstrators and vendors including the Levy Co Quilt Museum.

Heritage Nursery Plant Sale - We will have heritage plants from the original Dudley gardens including varieties of gingers, and also many species of Florida native plants.
